Heavy rains and flooding hampered the work in both Northern and Eastern Samar provinces in January and February, 2009. The lower
left photo from 2006 shows what they endure at such times. However, the work does go on. The photo at lower
right shows Roberto Romero preaching in a heavy downpour in January 2009 to a congregation sheltered under cabana roofs.
23 baptisms were reported in six churches in Northern Samar for 2008.
18 baptisms were reported in three churches and one campus ministry
in Eastern Samar in 2008.
